The Stylistic Design Shop opened in Belper at the end of November with a jamboree of circus entertainers including fire-eaters, stilt walkers and jugglers drawing customers to our new shop on Queen Street. Here they could discover the curated range of products in what we now know (thanks to the generous people of Belper sharing their knowledge with the Stylistic Team) was a former Blacksmith’s workshop.
The shop was jam-packed throughout the day, with visitors from as far afield as Bristol admiring the carefully selected ceramics, prints, candles, stationery and hand-made chocolates displayed alongside the stunning work of jewellery designer Poppy Norton – and enjoyed the novelty of the upside down plant-pots forming part of the Christmas display in the shop window.
Visitors were also welcomed to the upper level of the building, home to our Design Studio. We transformed the creative office space into a Photography Studio and DJ Booth, where visitors were treated to complementary professional digital portrait photography or could try their hand at DJing thanks to a free mixing workshop. One of the new trainee DJ’s – DJ Glo, confirmed that she was trying her hand at mixing on the decks for the first time at the age of 79! On the lower level, visitors could discover a wide range of design-led products, including handpicked prints, homewares, and gifts from world-class brands, including Rigaud, the French perfume house behind the world’s first scented candle, exclusive homewares from People Will Always Need Plates, a wide range of museum quality posters and prints, beautiful jewellery, stationery, gifts and much more.

“We couldn’t wait to open the doors – we’d worked so hard bringing this to Belper, and the warm welcome we received from the visitors who came from far and wide put us at ease straight away. We loved talking to everyone, answering their questions about our products, and hearing how enthusiastic they were about the products we had on offer – we have been so well received in Belper and also had lots of interest in the digital design work that we do. Overall the day couldn’t have gone any better.”- Phil Scott – Creative director and founder of Stylistic
The Stylistic Shop will be open Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm. You can find all of the products in store plus some extra pieces online at stylisticstudio.com
