A multi-site photography and film campaign that captured the scale of a national power response operation.
Services
The brief
Mercia Power Response provides flexible power response services to the UK grid, operating 39 sites with a combined capacity of 294MW. The company keeps the lights on when supply from renewables falls short of demand. The CEO, Graham White, had seen photography we had produced for another client and wanted the same approach applied to Mercia — capturing the people, the plants and the culture of the business across multiple operational sites. The work was needed to strengthen how the company was perceived as it pursued further growth.
The thinking
We spent a full summer working across Mercia’s sites — from the head office at Strelley Hall in Nottingham to operational locations in Mansfield, Chesterfield, Glossop and beyond. The campaign included executive and team portraits, industrial site photography, drone footage and a corporate film featuring a face-to-camera interview with Graham, directed on location. Every asset was delivered into a shared media library that the wider team could draw on across the business.
The outcome
The photography and film became a lasting set of creative assets, still in active use and now embedded in how Mercia presents itself. The media library remains a shared resource across the business, accessed by multiple team members. The work contributed to a period of significant growth for the company.
